CATCH A WAVE - Sag Harbor Whaling Museum
A 10' long wave tank at the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum lets visitors make variable waves and try to catch a ride with a mini surfboard suspended in the tank. Two linked pneumatic pistons provide the wave-making mechanism. All kinds of waves are possible from long rolling breakers to gentle surf. Installed in the Museum as part of a summer show about surfing, Catch A Wave is now a permanent part of the collection.
