The beach is illusory, soft haze and fading distance out to sea.
Ship lights on the horizon the same size as stars.
Here a try at a marking perspective's illusion, scribing a square on a receding plane, and continuing up the face of a cliff. With Paul's help (arrived from Madison) moving the stones from the camera's point of view (a little left, a little right, a little more . . . ) The slippery slopes of Makamah were a little treacherous and I wasn't too inclined to correct the upper markers. The physical impact of the tactile illusion on the beach was greater than the photo, moving past it as the perspective shifted and seeing both the implied shape and the reality. We missed in a couple of places with variation in the line distance.
