I build on the beach using materials and tools found on any shore:
a spectra of sand & stones, the curved edge of a shell,
adjustable sticks & reeds, slender dune grasses, ribbons,
fishing tackle, assorted plastic debris, clay, mud . . . and my hands.
Sometimes with a plan, often as an evolving / devolving series
and always a response to the light of day and what the waves leave behind.

Sooner or later a rising tide, wind, rain,
beachwalkers, dogs, gulls or deer find my work.
These photos are what remain and the lingering scent of the sea.
